Quick Tips To Beat Exam Stress

Beat Exam Stress

If there is one word most teenagers and young adults are terrified of, it is the “exam.” Most of us enrolled in a formal education system find ourselves being tested on the coursework taught to us. While this is considered as an extremely productive exercise, some of us may find ourselves mentally caught up and worried about what is to come. You need to realize that there are two types of stress levels, but to summarize the scientific explanation, we can refer to them as good and bad stress.

Good stress motivates you into completing tasks and stimulates the nerve that is needed for a fruitful outcome. Hence, good stress is beneficial for your body and helps you reach your goal. On the other hand, bad stress is an un-favorable mental burden, which leaves you worried and panicked about what could happen. You might as well start overthinking pessimistically, affecting you negatively. We are here, and we understand the gravity of your feelings, and that is why we are going to provide you with some quick and easy tips and tricks to combat exam-related stress and to help you succeed!

  1. Make a to-do list: You might be stressed on the amount of workload you have, or on the number of chapters you have to cover. While that feeling is reasonable, you can tackle it by jotting down everything you have to do for the day. Making a to-do list the night before, or the first thing in the morning is always a good idea. This way, you don’t overthink, you know how much you have to do, and you get the satisfaction when you complete one task on the list.

Our suggestion: use a pen and paper to make it; you feel that punch of positive accomplishment once you draw a line over the completed task!

  1. Manage a planner: Whether you are completing a high school diploma onlineor a degree, having a planner is always helpful. You can divide your tasks and allocate specific time limits to them. You can also sort out stuff in order of priority. This way, you stay more organized and on-track! Revision time tables are super helpful in boosting productivity, and in lowering Cortisol levels, thereby making you feel more optimistic!
  2. Reward yourself:Even the slightest of progress is a success, and you deserve acknowledgment for that! Reward yourself with every chapter you finish or every essay you write. That is how you will be motivated to work even more productively. Rewards can be chocolates, a can of soda, an episode of your favorite Netflix series, etc.
  3. Take a shower:Taking a hot bath or a shower in between studying is always a good idea. It relaxes you physically and mentally and will help you grind through the rest of the exam season. Playing some soothing songs while you are taking a bath could be a good idea as well.
  4. Make yourself something to munch in or drink:A quick snack like a bag of chips or some roasted peanuts can stimulate your taste buds and reduce negative stress. Drinks such as hot chocolate, green tea, or any type of tea can help you stay alert and focus on what’s ahead! The extra energy by Caffeine is definitely what you need in this season!
  5. Clear and organize your study space: Whether you have a personal study table or a shared study space, remember to clean it frequently. Physical clutter restrains your ability to think, and that ultimately leads to stress. Prevent cluttering by piling up your notebooks in a corner when you’re not studying. Remove further distractions such as unnecessary food, extra staplers, pens, etc. so that you are focused and organized on your coursework only.
  6. Take frequent breaks:It is not recommended to study non-stop, your mind and body need breaks now and then. Decide a time for yourself, for instance, one hour of study followed by a 10-minute break. In the break, try and meditate yourself by listening to some songs, watching some YouTube videos, reading some pages of your favorite book, doing a short workout, etc. Try not to think about what you have to do once the break is over because this short period is your “me time.” We understand that it’s easy said than done, but once you try, everything comes handy!
  7. Have a self-concert: YES! Have a concert and invite no one but yourself! Perfect venue: your room. Turn on your favorite pop songs, start singing and dancing your heart out. Singing releases endorphins, which are associated with feelings of pleasure. It lowers Cortisol levels in your body, which ultimately reduces stress levels. Have fun, jam into some songs because you deserve it after all the hard work you put in!

Final words: We know these times are hard, but this too shall pass! Just put in your 100%, without worrying about the outcome. We understand that saying “don’t stress” is easy said than done, but by following the tips given above, with the right intentions, you will start feeling better. Take deep breaths very often; avoid bombarding your brain with unnecessary worries, and you will see yourself blooming like a flower in no time, hopefully!

how many minutes in a Day

The word “minute” is an abbreviated form of “minuta prima”, the former meaning in English ‘first small division of the hour’. This division can be further refined with a “second small division of the hour” (Latin: minuta secunda), and this is where the word “second” comes from.

Each day contains 1440 minutes. Most of us don’t realize how much time we’ve lost during our lives because the seconds are invisible to the human eye. In this article, we’re going to discuss how you can make every minute of your day count by setting a schedule

Minutes makeup hours, days, months, and eventually years. So why do we so often squander these precious minutes? To be the best of yourself, you need to know how to maximize every minute of every day. In this article, we’re going to discuss how you can make every minute of your day count

From the moment you wake up, to the moment you go to bed, your life is measured in minutes. Make every one of them count

How Many Minutes & SECONDS 1 Day?

The day is the period when the sun appears above the horizon, specifically either the period between dawn and noon or the period between noon and sunset.

A day has 24 hours and 60 minutes. Minutes play a significant role in our daily life whether it is for timekeeping or using time. One day contains 1440 minutes.

Calculation

1 day=24 hour

1 hour =60 minutes

1 minute =60 seconds

Total minutes in a day =24×60 minutes=1440 minutes

Total seconds in a day = 1440×60=86400 seconds

How many minutes in a working day?

The average working day at an office job is 8 hours per day x 60 minutes. That’s 480 total minutes of working at the office each day.

How Many Minutes & seconds in 1 Week?

A week is a time unit equal to seven days, as defined by the International System of Units, and is the standard period used for cycles of rest days in most parts of the world.

There are 7 days in a week, 168 hours in a week, 10,080 minutes in a week, 604800 seconds in a week.

Calculation

1 week=7days

 1 day =1440minutes

Total minutes in a week =7×1440=10,080 minutes

Total minutes in a week =10,080 ×60=604800 seconds

How Many Minutes & seconds in 1 Month?

A month is 1/12 of a year. One month is a period comprising 28-31 days.  The average period of a month is 30.4 days. A month can be measured by a calendar or by the orbit of the moon around Earth. There are 720 hours, 43200 minutes, and 2592000 seconds in a month.

Calculation

1 month=30days

 1 day =1440minutes

Total minutes in a Month =30×1440=43,200 minutes

Total seconds in a Month =43200×60=2592000 seconds

How Many Minutes & seconds in 1 Year?

The year is a measurement of time defined in our calendar as the number of days required by the Earth to complete one revolution around the sun. A year is 12 months and 52 weeks long. It is a measurement of time equal to 3,1536,000 seconds.

Calculation

1 year=365 day

 1 day =1440 minutes

Total minutes in a year =365×1440=525,600 minutes

Total seconds in a year =525,600 ×60=3,1536,000 seconds

HOW TO SPEND A DAY

You have 1,440 minutes each day. You can trade them as you wish: sleep or eat, play or work, read or watch TV. If you spend eight hours at the office, that leaves 940 minutes – about one-third of your day – for everything else. Learn how to fit your life in the time remaining.

Each day is a new chance to be productive. Make the most of your time. Take action, get things done. Before you go to bed tonight, write down what you want to achieve tomorrow. And when you wake up in the morning, have breakfast before tackling your tasks for the day. Because a healthy body leads to a healthy mind, you will be amazed at what you can accomplish by the end of your day!

Conclusion

As you can see, there are a lot of minutes in just one day. And most of them go to things that don’t matter. With this information at hand, it should be clear that changing your lifestyle so that you spend more time on things that do is an endeavor worthy of your attention. Try making a few small changes in your daily routine and watch how they add up. Best of all, make sure it’s something you enjoy doing because then you’ll stick with it for the long haul.

Improve Math Aptitude Through Maths Tutoring

Maths Tutoring

PISA or Programme for International Student Assessment, a project of OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development), is the largest worldwide comparative study of education among 15-year olds, from different countries, in the subjects of Math, Science and Reading. Six hundred thousand 15-year olds from 79 countries are assessed every three years to compare their performances on the three subjects. It is an international benchmark for the educational system among participating nations by measuring their students’ performance and overall adequacy for the coming times. The results allow educators and policymakers to learn from the policies and practices of other countries.

In a 2018 global study, PISA reported Australians dropped behind their Chinese counterparts in the subject of Math, but slightly higher than the OECD average. Seven hundred forty schools participated, and more than 14,000 Australian students were assessed. The study posed concern because it showed Australian students’ math, science and reading results were declining. With the rapid globalisation and digitalisation, kids have to be equipped to be able to compete in a global setting. But how do we prepare our kids?

What is the importance of math?

Some students consider mathematics as hard and boring. Math is said to develop a child’s creativity and problem-solving skills. Those are good skills to have, but why are students not loving math? Some educators may need to be re-educated to change their approach and technique so kids will enjoy the subject and not dread it. They should consider adding math games and puzzles to their lesson. Kids need to be prepared for the enormous amount of data they will face in their future. They should know how to handle, manage, process and interpret these data for personal or business use. A simple trip to the grocery store is a math challenge in itself. Can you quickly compute the best-priced carton of milk among several brands on the shelf? At a gas station, can you easily compute if you did well on your mileage? Do you have enough money in the bank to cover your six months expenses if you plan to resign and move to another city? Math is part of our everyday lives.

What is a Math aptitude test?

Aptitude is the natural talent or skill of a person. An aptitude test is used to measure a person’s ability in a particular skill or field. Students take aptitude tests to determine the course aligned with their skills and interests. On the other hand, the Math Aptitude test assesses a student’s skills in arithmetic, pre-algebra, algebra, word problems, and number series.

How to help your child improve his math aptitude?

It would be best if you considered maths tutoring. A math tutor can immediately identify your kids’ problems and customise the lesson and speed accordingly. The one-on-one attention will enable your child to learn at his own pace, work on his weaknesses under the close supervision of the tutor, and address the mistakes he made in math classes right in the comforts of your home, without the feeling of embarrassment from classmates or teachers. Expect to see a boost in his confidence as you observe improvements in his math performance and tests. You never know; he might end up choosing STEM strand in senior high.

Conclusion

If you love challenges, you must love mathematics. How can you come up with the solution if you don’t? Naturally improving your kid’s aptitude for math through maths tutoring is the key to making them fall in love with this amazing subject. This will not just let them enjoy math but allow them to blossom into confident young individuals as they begin to perform to their maximum potential.

The simple answer to this query is the business acumen and proficiency preexisting in all of them. And, these traits are prevalent in those who have a sound and solid comprehension in business and can steer it towards success.

If you think about it, people who have a strong understanding of how a business works do not develop the tact overnight. They spend years gaining the requisite academic and professional qualifications to create an impact. They learn about the delicacies and sensitivities of running an organization and discover how to steer it out of crises. It is the reason why every business seeks to hire people with sound theoretical and practical business knowledge. And it is only possible through gaining a requisite and far-sighted educational degree.

Now, the question that arises here is, what sort of degree should one look to acquire? And at this career path, which qualification should you opt for considering the changing trends? One should seek to go for the one that enriches them with proper knowledge. Also, they should look for developing soft skills, such as the power to communicate and have teamwork and leadership abilities. In this regard, a rising trend is to look for alternatives to mainstream methods.

Some experts stress upon a mentorship model, such as to establish business relationships. Others call upon young business aspirants to consider starting their organization. Another school of thought emphasizes leadership and relevant training without receiving a specialized degree.

However, when we look at the ground realities, we see that the value of established degrees will always remain constant. Realizing this, some people opt for a Master’s in Management degree. At the same time, others seek to enroll in one of the MBA programs online to gain upgraded knowledge to built an appealing academic profile. Whatever decision one makes, they should review the advantages and disadvantages. After all, when we are standing on the crossroad of our career, we would only want an informed decision.

So, let’s look at the pros first.

1. HIGHER CHANCES OF KEY ROLES

The first most significant benefit of going for an MBA is the higher chances it provides for career progression. If you have the degree, you can confidently proceed to apply for many vital roles in the industry. And, these key roles are not ordinary, but they mostly relate to positions concerning crucial decisions. It is the reason why many organizations are on the lookout for the ones possessing the qualification.

2. BETTER SALARIES AND BENEFITS

With better roles and higher positions come better salaries, benefits, and perks. And, it is the reason why many people invest an enormous amount of hours to earn the degree. Also, it is not just the salaries, but the outfits that hire them have long-term benefits to offer. For many, this is enough reason to go ahead with their plans.

3. STRATEGIC THOUGHT PROCESS

People go after the seemingly difficult MBA degree for a reason; it enables them to think strategically and decisively. It is one protruding factor that every business owner and significant outlet tends to seek in employees. The courses that you study teach you the theory of strategic thinking and then enable you to walk the path practically.

4. MASTERING MANAGERIAL SKILL

You will always see many of the top employees in major organizations possessing an MBA degree. It is because they have the managerial skills to get things done and bring discipline. The fact is that many people who enter the domain seek to gain the expertise to have a higher hand in the job market. When you have excellent managerial skills, you can lead an organization toward success in the same way.

Let’s now understand the cons of gaining the coveted degree.

1. EXUBERANT COSTS

The first significant downside of earning an MBA degree is its high and exuberant costs. Let’s face it; not everyone seeking to obtain a specialized degree wants to spend that much at this stage in their lives. If you think about the tuition fee and textbooks, it seems quite out of hand. Moreover, you may incur costs in terms of the time off from work to study. While one may be quite confident they want the superlative degree, prices may keep them away. All of us wish high-paying jobs, but we also want freedom from perpetual debt and stress.

2. TIME CONSUMING

This reason keeps some of the aspirants of the degree at bay. An MBA degree can be very time consuming and exhausting. It would take significant chunks of your time daily and ask for your considerable attention. The issue is that you won’t be earning you will invest in acquiring the degree. And, the reality is, not every individual is the best manager of time, so things often turn out to be wrong. Or, we could be dealing with other issues that require or deserve more of our attention in the longer run.

3. JUMPING THE BANDWAGON

One of the disadvantages that not many people give a thought to is that not everything is suitable for every person. In other words, many people jump the bandwagon and do something only because everyone else is doing it. And, in the longer run, when it turns out to be false, then it is irreparably late. Moreover, an MBA degree may not lead us to a career path we are looking for in all this time.

FINAL WORD

We can discuss a lot when it is about choosing a specific career path. But what matters the most is how precious a degree it in terms of the job market and personal development. In this regard, it is essential to see whether the pros outweigh the cons. If they do, as it seems with this case, then opting for it may hold the answer. As you make your final call, remember to keep your specific requirements of career and life into consideration.
